Italian Level A1+ – Course Overview
Italian Level A1+ is designed for students who have completed the beginner level and are ready to expand their skills. In this course, you will deepen your understanding of Italian grammar, increase your vocabulary, and build confidence in more complex conversational situations. The course will help bridge the gap between beginner and intermediate levels.
Topics Covered:
- Describing Daily Routines and Activities
Gain the ability to talk in more detail about your daily life, work, and leisure activities using reflexive verbs and additional vocabulary.
- Present and Past Tenses (Passato Prossimo)
Begin to differentiate between present and past tenses, with a focus on forming and using the passato prossimo to describe past actions and events.
- Expressing Preferences and Opinions
Learn to express likes, dislikes, preferences, and opinions on familiar topics such as food, hobbies, and travel.
- Making Comparisons
Develop the ability to compare people, places, and things using comparatives and superlatives.
- Talking About Future Plans
Use phrases and structures to discuss future intentions and plans, introducing the future tense at a basic level.
- Engaging in Social Interactions
Practice participating in more dynamic social conversations, such as inviting someone to an event, accepting or declining offers, and making arrangements.
Skills Acquired:
- Listening & Speaking: You will enhance your listening skills by working with slightly more complex audio materials and engage in extended dialogues, conversations, and role-plays.
- Reading & Writing: Read short stories, simple articles, and dialogues, and write short paragraphs describing past and future activities.
Learning Outcomes:
By completing Italian Level A1+, you will be able to:
- Handle simple social situations more comfortably, such as making plans, giving directions, and engaging in small talk.
- Use the passato prossimo to describe past events and the present tense to discuss daily routines.
- Express preferences, opinions, and basic comparisons in Italian.
- Understand and interact in slightly more complex conversations, with a growing command of vocabulary and grammar.
