Rosa Di Grottole is the Director of the Italian Dream Academy program, having joined our team in 2017 as an Italian and Art History instructor. Over the years, she has coordinated our courses and has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the Academy. Rosa leads our Italian courses, coordinates the curriculum, manages our Book Club, and designs immersive cultural experiences for our students.
With two M.A. degrees cum laude, one in Art History from the University of Florence and one in Italian Studies from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, along with her years of experience, Rosa has built a solid academic foundation and is deeply passionate about both the language and the culture. In addition to her work at IDA, she currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Italian Language Program and a full-time Lecturer of Italian at Ohio State University.
Her passion for blending art, language, and travel has shaped the Academy’s language-immersion study abroad programs. These programs have been highly successful, with trips to Tuscany (2019), Southern Italy (2022), Veneto (2023), Tuscany & Veneto (June 2024) Southern Italy (December 2024), Central Italy and Southern France (June 2025). Through these journeys, more than 35 students have had the chance to fully immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Italy.

Join us for an unforgettable Study Abroad experience in Italy from May 25 to June 2, 2026, as we explore Mantova, Ravenna, Ferrara, Venezia, and Trieste, five cities that offer a rich blend of history, art, and cultural diversity. Begin in Mantova, a Renaissance jewel and UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its elegant palaces, including the Palazzo Ducale and Palazzo Te, and its deep ties to the Gonzaga family and artist Andrea Mantegna. In Ravenna, marvel at the breathtaking Byzantine mosaics that illuminate its early Christian churches. Ferrara enchants with its Renaissance spirit, the imposing Este Castle, and its peaceful, bicycle-friendly streets. In Venezia, you’ll experience the magic of the canals, St. Mark’s Square, and the timeless charm of the lagoon. Finally, Trieste offers a fascinating mix of cultures, literary history, and stunning views from Miramare Castle on the Adriatic. This journey combines language immersion with art, architecture, and authentic encounters, offering students a deeply meaningful and inspiring experience.
